“Actually my wife is a “Boardwalk Empire” fan. I’ve never seen it. But she has all the seasons for me. So I need to get caught up on the four seasons. The next time I’m on a plane and I fly around the country, I’ll get caught up on it.”
It’s going to be interesting, a great season. We got a new coach, a great coach in Doc Rivers. We have a lot of free agents, so we have a chance to win a championship this year. So, for a Clipper to say that … I don’t think it’s ever been said. We’re excited about it.
We’re the team in L.A., so people are just going to have to get used to that.

What’s in store this upcoming season?
This year it’s gonna be crazy. It’s going way fast. It opens up on the African American storyline. We’re introducing the Harlem Renaissance this season. I have a great group of people I’m surrounded by, everyone from Jeffrey Wright to Lou Gossett Jr. to Margot Bingam. And it exposes black culture to American history back in the day from fashion to music to everything. It’s just a great, great time. It was a great time to be black in America.
What are you most passionate about when it comes to acting?
The main thing that I’m passionate about when it comes to my craft is finding the truth and finding the humanity in any character that I play. People ask me if I am afraid of being typecast, and I say ‘no.’ My characters are different. If they seem the same to you, then you need to come to the hood because we are all different. And I like being a voice. I feel grateful for being a voice to a people that society may deem as a menace
What words would you give regarding power?
Words of wisdom that Chalkie when it comes to power? Trust no one. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer

Diddy does a great soiree. But when he has a dress code, do it. It’s no joke. If you don’t, you will get kicked out. But I digged this out of my closet; don’t you think I did good?

Am I fan of “Boardwalk Empire?” That’s why I’m here. I am a HUGE fan. And now with these new cast members this season, I cannot wait. Yah, I’m excited.
