The FBI identified the shooter: 34-year-old Aaron Alexis of suburban Dallas. A former Navy reservist, Alexis marks the 13th person killed in the Monday morning massacre in the nation’s capital after he opened fire on more than a dozen people. He was armed with an AR-15 assault rifle, a shotgun and a handgun.
Alexis had been an employee of a company called The Experts, a subcontractor on an HP (Hewlett-Packard) Enterprise Services contract. He was let go in 2011 after exhibiting a “pattern of misbehavior.”
