This delightful rom-com from director David E. Talbert may have a sensibility straight from the 1950s (do modern women really care whether a younger sister marries first?), but its heart is in the right place — and its funny bone. Flight attendant Montana Moore (Paula Patton) is desperately seeking a husband — or at least a fiancé — to escort her to her little sister’s wedding. So her BFFs, Gail (Jill Scott) and Sam (Adam Brody) advise her to consider an ex, and they hatch a scheme to alert her when one of the former boyfriends is airborne. You will laugh until your sides hurt. Scout’s honor. –p.d. lee
