George Zimmerman stopped by authorities, again
Acquitted murderer George Zimmerman is once again in headlines for a traffic violation. The neighborhood watchman was apparently stopped by authorities on August, 19 in an incident that went under the media’s radar.
According to WKMG Orlando who uncovered a written warning dated Aug. 19, 2013 at 11:06 a.m. from Florida Highway Patrol, Zimmerman was stopped for having excessive tint on his windows. Additionally authorities said he had improper tag display on his Honda truck.
Police let him off without a ticket after he noted that the windows were a safety precaution because of numerous death threats.
Zimmerman was traveling southbound on Interstate 95 at mile marker 208.
This is the third time he’s been stopped since his acquittal for the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.
In July he was pulled over in Texas for speeding and admitted to having a gun in the car and earlier this month he was stopped for the same violation.
On Thursday his estranged wife Shellie Zimmerman told the “Today Show” that he went on a “victory tour” after his trial. She also said she was doubtful of his innocence.
