There is absolutely nothing funny about almost a million federal government employees being out of work or millions of military servicemen and women — people who are charged with “standing on the wall” and defending the sovereignty of America — however not being paid until the government decides to crank itself back up.
But there are many witty social media users who proferred funny and even hilarious responses to the federal government’s imbecilic, high-stakes stare down that resulted in the destructive shut down for the first time since 1995 when President Bill Clinton was in office.
