Metro-North train derailment
At least four people are dead after a Metro-North train derailed in the Bronx, N.Y.. A spokesman for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority reports that a Grand Central station bound train left the tracks along the Hudson River. At least four fatalities have been confirmed and as many as 48 people have been injured.
Five of the seven cars on the southbound train from Poughkeepsie, N.Y. left the tracks at about 7:20 a.m. near the Spuyten Duyvil station under the Henry Hudson Bridge on Metro-North’s Hudson Line.
Police and fire rescue are currently on the scene.
