How B.o.B meets Bobby Ray

BOB RO F5 (1)

ACT IV: Beyond the Luxury

With Underground Luxury, B.o.B combines his bluesy guitar melodies with the ethos of Decatur street life. His first two singles “Headband” (featuring 2 Chainz), and “Ready” (featuring Future) are certified club hits that prove B.o.B can still capture the aggressive Atlanta hip-hop sound and take it to the next level.

When creating this album, he reminded himself of the hunger that engulfed him before signing his record deal. He recalled the years he went back to school wearing old clothes and shoes, and the nights his family gathered around the one heater that was used to warm his entire house.

“Underground Luxury is about taking whatever you have and making the best out of a situation,” B.o.B says. “It’s about turning dust into luxury. That’s my whole philosophy and mentality as an artist.”

B.o.B has turned a dire situation into something positive for himself and his family. If he could speak to his 13-year-old self, what exactly would he say?

“I would tell him first, you’re not crazy,” he says. “I would tell my 13-year-old self that now is the time to really focus on what you’re going to do and to pay attention to what you like to do. Take what you like to do and exaggerate that [with imagination]. Run that motherf—-  until you want to do something else. Just let yourself be.”
