Mega Millions Jackpot Reaches Record High Of $540 Million

If you played Mega Millions in Atlanta or San Jose, Calif., check your tickets!

Two winning Mega Millions tickets split the $636 million jackpot after matching all five white balls and the gold Megaball in Tuesday night’s drawing.  The jackpot was the second largest in the Mega Millions game history. The winning numbers were 8, 14, 17, 20 and 39, with a Megaball of 7.

The Atlanta winning ticket was sold at the Gateway Newsstand in the Alliance Center building at 3500 Lenox Rd. near Phipps Plaza and Lenox Mall in Buckhead, and will split a jackpot with another player in San Jose, Calif., who also picked all six winning numbers.

Twenty players also matched all five white balls and won $1 million.

The winners are expected to collect a one-time payout of approximately $170.5 million and  have 180 days to come forward and claim their prize.

Friday’s jackpot is worth $15 million. –louvonia mcclain
