A mother discovered that her son had died while reading comments on Facebook. According to Fox59, Nikkita Milledge had allowed her son, Anthoney Warren, to visit a friend on Dec. 16.
Warren, 15, was shot and killed outside of an Indianapolis apartment shortly after 1 p.m. Thirty minutes after his death, Milledge saw that someone posted “RIP Anthony” on his Facebook page. Shortly after reading the post, she received a call that confirmed what she had just read.
Authorities have yet to confirm why Warren was shot. However, police believe that he and another teen were attempting a robbery when he was shot.
Warren’s mother continues to try to understand how this could have happened since she provided for her son and allowed him to play his favorite sport, football. However, the family lived in a rough neighborhood that has already witnessed four shooting deaths in December.
Brice Price, 19, has been arrested and charged with Warren’s murder.
