There are two sides to every story
No matter if it’s a rumor, a good story or bad you usually only get one side and of course from the person that tells it their side is the most important and the correct side. I think you can respect, appreciate and understand the true power of love when you hear it from both parties involved. Newcomer Johnie Jay states, “This is what brought me to write Inevitable, a romantica that alternates the male and female point of view in each chapter. I wanted to show readers the journey of two hearts being brought together.
Inevitable shows that all love stories aren’t as “perfect” as fairytales portray and Jay’s views on love stems from his upbringing. He states, “Love and romance has always interested me. Not just from the movies and books that I absolutely love reading but I’ve had an up close and personal example of it my entire life. My parents have been married for over 37 years and they are still going strong. My mother always reminds me that making a relationship work, takes work, and it always will. The work does not ever stop but the key is to find you a partner that is compatible with you and is willing to work as hard as you are.”
“Even though I love and appreciate the way they raised me I do believe they made the mistake which a lot of parents do while raising good kids, they shield them from the real world and what goes on in it. Good parents raise good boys to be respectable gentlemen, kind and just and one day you’ll find an equally nice young lady that will respect and appreciate those things about you. Every day that I stepped out of that house, made me realize that was not the case. Although someone teaches their son the right way doesn’t necessarily mean that another parent is teaching their daughter with those same values. The girls where I grew up didn’t want nice or smart nor gentlemen for that matter. The drug dealer, the player and the most popular received all of the attention and seemingly all the pretty women as well.”
“I remember frequently escaping these harsh realities with drawing and writing. With them I could control the picture and the outcome. I could create a world where things would be the way they were supposed to be. Now, as a grownup I realize everything is how it is meant to be whether good or bad. In retrospect, the things that we thought that shouldn’t happen set you up for a grand ending! The larger the conflict or drama the more grand the story and outcome could be. Sure, as a writer you can create names or characters and environment but the best stories, even fiction, are the ones that emulate real life. I remember when I first told people that I was going to write fiction romance. Women told me never to make your characters or sex scenes too perfect. Make them real. The more believable, the more flawed, the more relatable because that’s how people and relationships really are.”
In his first ever romance erotica; Inevitable has strong sexual elements to it. “I know everyone does not share my views on the importance of sex in relationships but to me sex is the highest form of communication. Everyone will agree that verbal communication is key to have any kind of relationship but there are some that will say that sex, which is literally plugging into your partner and your bodies communicating with each other, is not all that important.”
Love is a tricky thing, the ultimate catch 22. It is something created to give you an unimaginable feeling that you cannot duplicate or get from anything else but the only way to fully experience it is to open yourself fully and make yourself vulnerable to someone that can possibly use it to destroy you. The question is do you think it is worth it?
