2 Chainz facing jail time for August arrest

Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz could be looking at jail time stemming from his Aug. 21 arrest in Oklahoma City. Back then, the star was taken into custody following an appearance during Lil Wayne’s “America’s Most Wanted” show at Chesapeake Energy Arena. 2 Chainz and his entourage had been pulled over for a broken tail light, and when they refused to allow police to search their property, they were arrested.

Now, 2 Chainz has been slapped with a misdemeanor charge for obstructing an officer. Born Tauheed Epps, If convicted, the 36-year-old faces up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine. The bus driver, Sedric Arozell Brooks, and a passenger, Abdullah Qawi Mujahid, were charged with the same misdemeanor. Bodyguard Rory Dorell Smith was charged with f possession of a controlled dangerous substance. 2 Chainz has tweeted briefly about the situation.


“So the fact that OKC is charging me with obstruction months after pulling my bus over And finding nothing lets me know the devil is busy,” he posted.

According to NewsOK, Oklahoma City attorney Mack Martin, who represents 2 Chainz and the three other men charged, has said that he is “hoping to have the matter resolved in the very near future.”
