Ke$ha blames her producer for her eating disorder

After surprising her fans and the media by checking into a rehabilitation facility to battle what’s being described as an eating disorder, pop singer Ke$ha is now calling out a producer who she says directly led to her developing the disorder.

Dr. Luke has steered Ke$ha’s career since she was 18, and he reportedly made comments when the starlet was younger about her weight. According to TMZ, he told the Ke$ha after her Get Sleazy Tour that she looked like “a f–king refrigerator.” She took his comments seriously and a friend told HollywoodLife that was when she began changing.

Though no one realized what was happening initially.

“With her, she is such the life of the party that people didn’t notice it and thought she was just getting in shape. And she would hide all the bad stuff from those that are close to her.”

“Friends started seeing around Thanksgiving that something was wrong and started talking to her to get help,” the source said “Thankfully, she took their advice and is getting the help she needs.”

Ke$ha entered the Timberline Knolls facility near Chicago this week for treatment. Her only statements about her situation have been positive affirmations about moving forward and loving herself.

“I’m a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself, but I’ve found it hard to practice,” she told TMZ via statement. “I’ll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder… to learn to love myself again, exactly as I am.”
