Many are talented but few actually make it in the world of fashion. If there is one piece of advice for those seeking fashion success, it would be to pay close attention to the methodologies of the top brands of today. Especially ones with a long-standing history. If you have no idea where to begin, start with Macy’s.
There is no special test to take, you won’t need a student loan, it’s a cost-free program open to minorities and women. Macy’s is looking for new talent to fill their hand-picked class for the coveted Workshop at Macy’s. The workshop is a free, 4-day program designed to give entrepreneurs the tools to sustain growth and thrive in the retail industry.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be the majority owner or co-owner of a business that has been in operation for at least 2 consecutive years
- A legal U.S. resident, residing in the United States, who is either a woman or of Black, Hispanic, Native American, Asian-Indian or Asian-Pacific descent
- 21 years or older
- Operate an established U.S.-based business that produces goods that can be sold in a department store
- Travel to New York City to participate in the program
Applications are due February 2, 2014.
Although it is not guaranteed, some of the most notable alumni from the program have become vendors for Macy’s and have expanded their brand.
