Legendary emcee and producer Q-Tip is hooking up with a couple of Hollywood heavyweights to produce a new TV show based on his experiences in the music industry in the late ’80s/early ’90s as part of the Native Tongue collective.
Teaming up to produce the new series with Q-Tip are current The Wolf of Wall Street stars Jonah Hill and Leonardo DiCaprio.
While the as of yet untitled show is still in the infancy stages of production, reports say that meetings with a number of TV networks have been scheduled to negotiate a deal with DiCaprio’s company, Appian Way, which will serve as the main producer of the show.
The Native Tongue collective consisted of De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, The Jungle Brothers, Black Sheep, and a host of others.
