Chuck Smith calls Phaedra Parks an ‘ugly duckling’

Chuck Smith stirred a major amount of drama in the world of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” when he claimed that he bedded Phaedra Parks and Kandi Burruss around the same time during his days as an Atlanta Falcon. Since then, both “RHOA” stars have denied Smith’s claims saying that Smith was just lying to his wife, Mynique, to downplay their old relationships. Now, Smith has added more fuel to the fire by dissing Parks in a half-hearted apology.

In a new interview with GossipExtra, Smith explained that he regretted not telling his wife the whole truth about his past with Parks and Burruss.

“I should have talked about them (Phaedra and Kandi) in a different way,” Smith said. “I should’ve given my wife a little more information about them. It’s just unfortunate I got caught in this situation.”

Smith goes on to explain that he dated Burruss because “she was nice and her momma cooked good food.”

“But we were in a lifestyle of entertainment,” Smith said. “I had four girls in every corner of the stadium.”

However, when it comes to Parks, Smith offered a backhanded compliment about why he dated her.

“Phaedra was just the ugly ducking from the sixth grade,” he said. “It’s unfortunate she got caught up in this.”

Ironically enough, Smith questions why he’s received such a backlash since making his accusations about hooking up with the two women, which he claims has left many questioning his role as a mentor to young kids.

“I’ve been surprised at all these attacks, which are more directed at my wife than me.”

“Why is what I did at 27 that important,” he told me. “It should be about what I do now, teaching the art of the pass rush and how to be a good NFL rookie.”

That would be true if Smith and his wife weren’t the ones who made a big deal about his past and he wasn’t using egotistical claims about his player days to bash the women he was intimate with. That’s why we question why the “Big Homie” should be mentoring “Little Homies” about life and maturiy. – nicholas robinson
