Mae Young dies
Wrestling legend Mae Young has died. Young, whose career with World Wrestling Entertainment spanned eight decades, died Tuesday, Jan. 14 at age 90.
“There will never be another Mae Young,” said WWE chairman and CEO Vince McMahon about the storied athlete. “Her longevity in sports entertainment may never be matched, and I will forever be grateful for all of her contributions to the industry. On behalf of WWE, I extend our sincerest condolences to her family and friends.”
Young was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008. Just last year, Young celebrated her birthday live on WWE’s “Monday Night Raw.”
