Joe Budden says he’s done with Tahiry: ‘That’ll never happen again’

There’s nothing like a woman rejecting a marriage proposal to bruise a man’s ego. Joe Budden is still smarting from the sting of rejection after his longtime on-again, off-again girlfriend, model Tahiry, didn’t accept his marriage proposal. Budden proposed to Tahiry during an episode of “Love & Hip-Hop: New York” and was asked about the incident during an interview on NYC’s Hot 97.

“There were no Altoids around,” Budden said, after he was asked about chewing gum during his proposal. “I never do gum. I was nervous as a word I can’t say on the radio. I needed that gum. It was a great proposal, are you kidding me? I’m mad at the editor, they edited so much out. In the scene that I shot, with my mom afterward, I expressed how the answer didn’t take away from how beautiful the night was for me, with the family there and just leading up to it, and the ring, and the wedding planning. All of that was great.”

When all else fails, Budden falls back on his “player” image. He claims he’s received more attention from women since he was rejected.

“Sympathy box is some of the best box you can get,” Budded said regarding Tahiry’s rejection. “Girls only want guys that are off the market.”

He also stated that he will not propose to Tahiry again.

“No way. No way. I’m never doing that again. That will never happen again,” he says adamantly. “No. Never, ever, ever, ever. [What Tahiry said] wasn’t wrong on the show, in real life, it was all wrong.”
