Serenity Brown is missing. The sad thing is, she’s been missing since July 2006. But no one seemed to care until city social workers made the discovery in October 2011. The details, as told by her mother Paula Johnson who provided the graphic details about her disappearance and death, are sickening.
Before Serenity saw her 2nd birthday, her father Edward “Chuck” Brown is accused of beating the life out of her before slicing her up and feeding her to the pit bull. There are so many unanswered questions, including why didn’t family members or friends show any concern over the course of the five years? What about the neighbors?
On that fateful day when the little angel took her last breath, Johnson was reading a story to Serenity at their apartment in Canarsie, Brooklyn. The tot’s laughter really angered her dad, who flew into a rage. He allegedly knocked the life out of her with one punch, took her limp body from the mother’s arms and placed her in a tub filled with water. It didn’t stop there. Johnson says Brown grabbed a knife from the kitchen and carved the dead child up as the radio played loudly in the background.
He fed her sliced remains to the pit bull. Then he executed the dog to hide the evidence.
Administration for Children’s Services made the discovery that Serenity was missing when inquiring about Johnson’s 12 year old son who wasn’t attending school. Johnson, who was receiving public assistance, initially lied and said Serenity was with Brown’s mother in Alabama. When authorities checked with Alfreddia Norris in Alabama, she alerted them she hadn’t seen the little girl since she was 3 months old. She’s since come to her son’s defense and says Johnson is to blame for Serenity’s disappearance.
Johnson’s mother Cynthia Johnson agrees this is “sad” and claims she rarely saw her granddaughter because Brown wouldn’t allow her daughter to bring Serenity around.
Brown nor Johnson have been arrested or charged with a crime. They have since split up and moved out of the apartment.
