Police have made an arrest and revealed the motive in the killing of former G-Unit rapper Mazaradi Fox last month.
It is believed that accused shooter Jamal Scott targeted Fox in retaliation for the 1998 murder of his younger brother.
According to The Daily News, Fox, real name Jamal Green, got into an argument and instructed his gunmen to begin shooting in the July 1998 incident that left Scott’s brother Curtis dead.
“Jamal (Fox) didn’t pull the trigger. He didn’t shoot him. He just happened to be there when it happened,” says Fox’s girlfriend. “This is 16 years ago and you’re still harboring that?… Killing Mazaradi, that’s not going to bring your brother back!”
On January 3, 2014, Fox was gunned down as he sat in a SUV parked in a Queens driveway. Police allege that Scott, wearing a ski mask and dressed in all black, walked up on and riddled the SUV with bullets, killing Fox and wounding three other passengers.
Scott has been charged with second-degree murder, attempted murder, and felony assault.
