Chief Keef is still serving a 90-day rehab sentence at Wavelengths Recovery, a private rehabilitation facility in Orange County, California. The rapper, who tested positive for marijuana during his probation, recently spoke to Billboard about his music and how his addiction affected the quality of his output.

“My last two mixtapes were mistakes,” the Chicago rapper says. “I was on promethazine, all drugged out.” Chief Keef released the Bang Part Two mixtape in August of 2013 and the Almighty So mixtape followed in October.

“I was tweaking,” Keef adds. “I don’t sip the lean no more though.”

Despite the fact that Wavelengths is a luxurious, beach-front facility, Keef says he is not happy where he is and he refuses to let anyone visit him.

“It’s like being locked up,” he says. “And when I’m locked up, I don’t want anybody to come see me. I won’t let my family come here. I haven’t seen my 2-year-old daughter.”

Chief Keef will find out on February 28 whether a Chicago judge feels his recovery is complete of if he will return to rehab.
