Pompeii

This action-drama film is set in the ancient Italian city of Pompeii, which was buried under tons of volcanic ash when Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 A.D. Pompeii would have been just as interesting as a disaster film, perhaps more so, but this version of the events includes a romantic thread to add more tension. Milo (Kit Harington) is a slave who becomes a celebrated gladiator. Milo will need all of fighting skills to rescue the love of his life from the evil Roman senator to whom she is engaged before Pompeii meets its fire-and-brimstone end. –p.d. lee
