It has been discovered that hip-hop star Chief Keef was arrested yesterday in Highland Park, Illinois for driving under the influence. The troubled hip-hop star just completed a court-mandated stint in a California rehabilitation center days ago but it appears that last week, he was busted in his home state.

Keef, born Keith Cozart, was pulled over by police around 12:35 p.m. on March 5 for an expired registration, the Chicago Tribune reports Highland Park Deputy Police Chief George Pfutzenreuter as having shared.

“During the traffic stop, he showed signs of impairment from drugs,” Pfutzenreuter said. “There was an odor of burnt cannabis about his presence and in his vehicle and some admission of his use.”

Chief Keef failed a sobriety tests was arrested and charged with DUI and driving with a suspended license, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and expired registration.

The star had just been released from court supervision following completion of his 90-day rehab program in California. He appeared in Cook County Court in Skokie on Feb. 28, where a judge issued his release. Judge Earl Hoffenberg previously stated in December that he would send Cozart to jail if he failed another drug test.

After this most recent arrest, Cozart posted a $300 bond and was quickly released from custody. His arraignment is scheduled for April 11 in Lake County.
