Earl Sweatshirt
claimed several months ago that his planned collaborative album with fellow Odd Future cohort Tyler, the Creator was still planned for release. The EarlWolf album has been on the shelf for a while, but fans still expected that the long awaited project would one day see the light of day. But in an exchange with a fan on his Spring.me account, Tyler himself indicated that he has no interest in finishing the album.

“We’ll do the record when we’re ready to sit down for a month and a half and do it in one,” Earl told NME in 2013. “It’d be s—-y if it was spread out. That’s how I want to do s— from now on; that’s what I learned from doing [his debut album] Doris. Trying to piece s— together that’s hella spread out kinda sucks. You hit a lot more walls trying to make it sync.”

But this week, Tyler said that he’s simply lost interest.

“I’m serious,” he wrote. “I don’t want to do it anymore and to be honest it will never live up to the expectations of people that really want it. Not that that really matters, but I’m not in the mind frame to do a whole album of that s—. I don’t want to do it.”

“Maybe one day when I don’t want to make clothing and furniture and gay a– fruity music about lakes and s—, I’ll get back around to hard hitting raps,” Tyler continued. “But the way things are looking, it’s only gonna get worse until I turn full f-g.”
