Is this the year of Kevin Costner? It would appear that the leading man is experiencing quite the resurgence considering his multiple high-profile roles in 2014. (I mean, geez, we haven’t even hit the halfway mark yet.) The latest film, Draft Day, returns Costner to his wheelhouse — that of the conflicted, yet charismatic leading man. And while Costner more than holds his own as top dog, the real scene stealer is up-and-comer Chadwick Boseman (42). No stranger to sports flicks, Boseman adds much-needed sincerity to a film that at times get tripped up on the director’s need to ramp up the sports melodrama. All in all, Draft Day is worth the price of admission — particularly, if you’re an NFL nut like me. –dewayne rogers
