On Sunday morning, the Buick Achievers assembled with General Motors executives, journalists and Dr. Michael Lomax, the president and CEO of the UNCF, at posh Morton’s Steakhouse in downtown Atlanta. Lomax, (pictured above) regaled the table about GM’s and the UNCF’s 70-year relationship after Kevin Williams, president of GM Canada (pictured below) held the room spellbound with his enthralling story of overcoming seemingly insurmountable odds as the youngest of 16 children, born into abject poverty, yet able to rise to the pinnacle of his profession at a multinational conglomerate.
