Mathew Knowles ordered to stop paying child support to Alexsandra Wright

For months now, Mathew Knowles has been in and out of court battling his former mistress, Alexsandra Wright, over child support payments for their son. Now, months after successfully having his child support payments reduced, a judge has reportedly ordered that Knowles stop paying altogether because he grossly overpaid Wright in the past.

In February 2013, Wright convinced a judge to order Knowles to shell out $12,000 a month for their son. But last month, Knowles convinced a judge to lower his payments to $2,485 a month, claiming that his income had decreased since his famous daughter, Beyoncé, fired him as her manager.

Now, according to TMZ, Knowles scored even greater luck when he was able to convince the judge that he’s been grossly overpaying Wright and that he should have been paying her $2,485 all along. According to Knowles’ figures, he’s now overpaid Wright by $110,000.

The judge has now given Knowles the go-ahead to stop giving Wright child support for the next three and a half years. Not surprisingly, Wright, who recently began getting $300 in food stamps a month, plans to appeal the judge’s decision.

But she may not have to fight too hard. TMZ explained that welfare officials usually seek some kind of payments from the father when the mother is on public assistance. So it’s likely that Knowles will still have to shell out some kind of payments to Wright beginning this summer. – nicholas robinson
