Whoopi Goldberg recently began her stint as a writer for the pro-marijuana outlet The Cannabist with a doozy of a confession.
The current co-host of ABC’s “The View” admitted that she smoked marijuana right before giving her acceptance speech for her win as Best Supporting Actress at the 1991 Oscars. Goldberg said of the incident “I learned a great lesson. Never smoke pot before there’s a possibility of having to talk to a hundred million people.”
Goldberg, who suffers from severe headaches caused by glaucoma says she now uses a vaporizer pen, affectionately named “Sippy,” to help with her headaches. She related that marijuana works for her much better “man-made things.”
“I used to take Advil by the handful for this very reason, and I don’t take Advil anymore — not for my eye. You’re not supposed to eat Advil every day, and I was eating them every day, these man-made things. But I can do this without hurting myself.”
Maintaining that she only uses marijuana for medical reasons, Goldberg asserts that she is “certainly not looking for that high high.”
