Mary Johnson and Oshea Israel: a story of forgiveness

Mary Johnson and Oshea Israel

“Un-forgiveness is like cancer; it eats you from the inside out.” — Mary Johnson

No one can fully realize or get over the impact of losing a loved one to violence.  But imagine losing your 20-year-old son to a senseless murder and the killer is now your neighbor.  This is what happened to Mary Johnson and her son’s killer, Oshea Israel. But the two being next door neighbor’s was not by accident; it was by choice.  In the true spirit of Christian forgiveness, Johnson arranged the whole thing.

Johnson has a non-profit called from Death to Life, and has spoken with President Obama, Oprah Winfrey, inmates, school children and thousands of others about the power of forgiveness.
