As an author, mother, wife, reality TV star and successful entrepreneur, Toya Wright seems to have it all. A woman with many titles, Wright has learned a tremendous amount and has had many experiences that have contributed to her current success.

Life hasn’t always been this prosperous for the successful Mrs.Wright. As the divorcee of Rap megastar Lil Wayne, and after being introduced to motherhood at the tender age of 14, Wright spent the majority of her life living in the rapper’s shadows. “Following the stereotype of me being somebody’s baby’s mother, people didn’t believe in me or give me a chance to see the things that I could do” says Wright. “There were all kinds of negative press out there and I just wanted a chance to clear my name and to let people know that I am a woman and I am striving to be all that I can be,” she adds.

Wright remains very grateful for the opportunity to be featured alongside her good friend Tameka “Tiny” Harris, wife of rapper T.I., on the reality TV show, “Tiny and Toya.” She says, “The show really gave me a platform to show the world who I was.” Wright also mentioned that the show provided her with the funds she used to make her initial investments into her first business, Garb Boutique, which has been open now for five years.

Never having completed college, Wright lacked the fundamentals for running and establishing a successful business. However, she feels very blessed to have some of her close friends, who have maintained successful businesses, to show her the ropes. “I still want to go back to school to get my education because I don’t think it’s ever too late to get an education” says Toya. “I mean anybody can open up a business, but you actually have to know the business to have success in the business.”

Today, Wright has published a New York Times Best Seller, Priceless Inspirations and has started a number of successful business which include her second business Garb Shoetique, The Toya Wright Hair Collection and Glamore Glam Cosmetic lip gloss line. She did all of this while being a mother and a wife. Wright is also stepping into the role of a momanger, where she manages her daughter, Reginae Carter, in the development of her music career.

Wright feels that sharing her story is her true calling and loves it. She encourages young women to be the best that they can be and to not become what others want them to. She keeps God as a priority in her life and says that because of that, she has been blessed and doors are always opening. She advises other youngsters who have a dream to go after it and to never give up —to believe in themselves and work hard, because hard work pays off.
