On the N.W.A movie Straight Outta Compton:
“It’s coming along well. We’re in a good place. We’re about to start pre-production and really start looking at locations. We will start shooting in August. The movie is about the neighborhood that forged N.W.A. How did this neighborhood create N.W.A? And how did N.W.A. change the neighborhood after it was created? It goes from 1985 to 1995. We began from the time we started to conceptualize N.W.A. to Eazy E’s death. It’s that whole period. It’s interesting and gives a glimpse of what really went on.”
On if Compton has changed since his youth:
“More Latinos are in Compton today. But for the most part, everything else is the same. Poor is poor. Broke is broke. Gang-infested is gang-infested. That’s what is happening. It’s the same s—.”
Straight Outta Compton is scheduled to be released in 2015.
