50 Cent has never been known to mince words. He spent the first few months of this year taking jab after jab at his G-Unit band mates and longtime friends, Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks. Then, he surprised everyone by appearing onstage with his old crew during this year’s Summer Jam concert. He’s mocked friends from across-the-board throughout his career, from Floyd Mayweather to T.I. So nothing Fiddy says should come as a surprise at this point.
During an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” 50 was asked who is the most overrated artist in hip-hop. He wasted no time in giving his answer.
“Overrated?” 50 responded. “Jay Z.”
There hasn’t been any rumors of bad blood between 50 and Jay, but that’s never stopped 50 from taking jabs. Still, he didn’t seem to have any animosity — just stating his opinion on Jay’s career. 50 even indicated that Jay would probably agree with him.
“He would say he’s overrated,” 50 added, before quoting Jay himself: “‘Rather be overrated than underpaid.'”
True indeed.
