Brian Bradley, aka Astro, may have initially wowed audiences as one of the more memorable finalists on “X-Factor,” but the talented Brooklyn, New York, native has also become one of the more promising up-and-coming actors in Hollywood. He’s set to make his major feature debut as “Tuck Simms” in the upcoming adventure film Earth To Echo.
While he acknowledges that he’s excited about his burgeoning career as an actor, music remains his primary focus. “I still do music; music is my main thing,” Astro says. “Acting is something that I’m trying out — even though people say I’m crazy to say ‘trying out’ when I’m in a major film. But I love them both equally.”
And in interacting with his young cast mates, he admits that there were some tense moments, though the teens have all grown to become closer in the meantime. “I got into an argument with Ella [Wahlestedt], too — at rehearsals,” he reveals. “That was good because it worked. The same type of thing as on-screen; I didn’t really like her at first, but we ended up cool at the end.”
Astro is ready to refocus on his music career. He was frank and honest when explaining why he may have to keep filmmaking a secondary priority. The schedule is quite demanding.
“I have one more thing to shoot, and then I’m going to just take a break,” he shared. “Because it’s a lot of work. It’s fun to actually shoot and be on set, but the promotional tours and stuff — you’ve really got to be prepared for that.”
