The city of Inkster and nearby Detroit, Michigan can breathe a little easier knowing that a killer has been caught. On July 3, Raymone Jackson, 24, of Inkster, Michigan was arraigned in court on charges of felony murder for the cold hearted killing of Kamiya Gross. The 2 year old toddler was shot in the head on her front porch this past Tuesday.
Jackson shot the girl in front of her father, Ken French, 34, and according to a statement by state police spokesman Lt. Michael Shaw, “The child was the intended target. He was going to kill the child in front of this guy and then kill him afterward so that it would be the last thing he sees. Anybody that feels that they can execute a child in the state of Michigan, we’re going to go after them with everything that we can.”
In addition to shooting Kamiya, Jackson also shot her father Ken French and a 12 year old girl, Chelsea Lancaster. Lancaster was shot in the stomach and underwent surgery to remove the bullets. At this time, the little girl is expected to make a full recovery.
The motive for Jackson’s crime stems from a shooting that occurred in April of 2014. Besides the felony murder charge, Jackson is also charged with attempted murder, torture and other crimes.
