Atlanta rappers Waka Flocka Flame and Gucci Mane were embroiled in a heated feud last year after years of friendship and collaboration. The two stars slammed each other in interviews and on social media consistently, over everything from disloyalty to money. Waka recently addressed his relationship with Gucci Mane in an interview with Whooly Shuffle. While Waka admitted that he has no issue with his former mentor any longer, he was also very clear about any prospect of them becoming affiliated once again.
“Nah, that’s over,” Waka said.
Waka said that despite his desire to stay away from Gucci Mane professionally, he emphasized that he doesn’t wish ill on the troubled rapper, who’s currently in prison. In fact, Waka said that he would step up for his former friend.
“I still got love for Gucci Mane,” he explained. “At the end of the day, I wouldn’t watch no n—- put their hands on him in front of me. You gotta know I’m Pete Rose’ing you my n—-. I’m not gonna give the young boys no OK’s or nothing. I’m coming off of my hip if it gets to that level. But at the end of the day, I’m good my n—-. I’m aight. I control my situation. I don’t need him.”
