Tamar Braxton may seem unstoppable on TV, but the hit singer learned the hard way last month that she’s just as human and vulnerable as everyone else when she nearly collapsed on stage during a Las Vegas concert. Now, Braxton has opened up about the health scare and is claiming that it’s changed her life.
In a new interview with HelloBeautiful.com, Braxton explained how the incident deeply frightened her, but also reminded her that her beloved Tamartians will always stick by her.
“It didn’t only impact me as a singer, but also as a person. It changed me a little bit because people look at being a celebrity as entitlement,” Braxton said. “You’re entitled to have nominations, to get into a party or whatever. When that happened in Vegas, I was humbled because not one person left.”
Although many believed that Braxton’s fainting spell was due to her intense work schedule, which includes balancing three TV shows with motherhood and touring, Braxton explains that her health scare was really caused by smoke.
“It had nothing to do with the workload. It had everything to do with the smoke. I can’t even go to hookah bars with my friends,” Braxton explained. “The House of Blues had their smoke machine on, all day long. By the time I got to my 8-count honey, it was in my lungs and I was done.”
Well, we’re just glad that Braxton walked away from the scare in better health and we hope that nothing like this ever happens to her again. – nicholas robinson
