Police investigate family after 5-year-old girl is diagnosed with STD

A 5-year-old girl in Marion, Indiana, has been diagnosed with a sexually transmitted disease. According to reports by NBC 33, the child was tested for an STD in early July.

When the test results were returned, it was confirmed that the child had an STD in her mouth. Once doctors discovered the results, they contacted police. Police officers in Marion removed the 5-year-old from the home along with a 2-year-old.


Police have yet to make an arrest, but they are currently investigating the incident.

In 2013, Brandon Eaton, 18, of Greenwood, South Carolina, was convicted of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl and infecting her with an STD. Eaton is currently serving a 20-year sentence behind bars.
