Nicki Minaj blasts ‘Anaconda’ cover critics, compares herself to ‘Sports Illustrated’ models

Yesterday, Young Money artist Nicki Minaj debuted the racy cover art for her new single “Anaconda.” On the cover, Minaj shamelessly showcases her famous derriere in nothing but a pink G-string bikini and blue sneakers. As predicted, the Smooth magazine inspired image generated quite the tizzy on social media, as fans felt that Minaj should have taken another route for someone who has noted periodically that she demands respect.

Now, Minaj is clapping back at her critics with an interesting comparison. Last night on Instagram, the “Beez in the Trap” rapstress posted a series of images from Sports Illustrated, comparing her booty shot to several white bikini models, who have displayed their backsides in a similar fashion. “Angelic. Acceptable. Lol” she wrote.

While some argued that the swimsuit models are paid to do just that, model swimwear, Minaj may have a point here. Do you think she’s being held to a double standard or is Minaj simply selling sex for sales? Hit the flip for more of Minaj’s Sports Illustrated comparisons below. – ruthie hawkins/@ruubabie
