While vacationing in Bali, Chicago socialite Sheila von Weise Mack likely never imagined her teen daughter Heather Mack, 19, and the teen’s boyfriend Tommy Schaefer, 21, would beat her to death with a glass ashtray and vase, then stuff her body in a suitcase. It’s reported her body was recovered at the posh St Regis Hotel, located adjacent to the beach at Nusa Dua.
As Indonesians prepared for (Sun) Independence celebrations, the body of von Weise Mack was found stuffed in a suitcase inside a taxi, along with two bloodied pillows, Schaefer’s jeans and a red and yellow wrap – worn by him in a surveillance video.
As she sits in jail, 10 miles from the scene of the investigation, Mack claims she needs to return to the U.S. because she needs special care for an ectopic pregnancy.
If found guilty, the pair could face death by firing squad. As for Mack’s unborn child, willing family members will be allowed to claim him/her.
