Uzo Aduba has made history for the hit show “Orange Is the New Black.” She snagged the first acting award for the show for portraying Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren. She was in awe when she received the award from none other than Oscar Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman. She won a Creative Arts Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress.

“I don’t know how to say how incredibly impressed I am to be a part of this show,” she said during her acceptance speech. “We worked on this show and spent time together really just trying to tell a great story and invest in each other’s performances. It just feels good to know that people love the show as much as we love making it.”

The Creative Arts Emmys were held at Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014.
