As tension, violence and protests continue to rise in Ferguson, Missouri, Revolt TV creator Diddy calls out the one and only authority he feels can make a huge difference … President Obama.
In a brief Instagram video, Diddy candidly sends a message to Obama saying, if you feel the same way I do, do something about it…
“WATCH DIS! DEAR PRESIDENT OBAMA!!!!!! IF YOU FEEL THE SAME WAY SEND A VIDEO MESSAGE TO THE PRESIDENT #DEAROBAMA” read the caption.
And while Diddy may have filmed the clip with good intentions, the video which was shot out to more than 9 million Twitter followers and 4 million followers on Instagram, wasn’t well receipted.
“Stop calling out to him. HE AIN’T GOD. START PRAYING TO THE REAL ONE” read one comment.
“How about u get on a plane. You’ve been an entertainer longer than he’s been POTUS and in that time u never addressed our issues. Ur a deadbeat to the black community. Too busy hugged up and cheesing with unauthentic black women like JLo and Cassie while your sisters and brothers are DYING by their own hands or by others! All those entertainers that r busy calling out Sharpton and Jackson at LEAST they’re brave enough to be shot at, stabbed, jailed, crucified in the media. Where r your scars, police records, bullet wounds? Donating money is s— they need your PRESENCE. Obama is NOT a community leader and his presence would only make the situation WORSE” Read another…
It’s safe to say that Diddy calling out President Obama wasn’t his brightest move. And although we’ve seen a variety of criticism aimed at the President regarding his efforts to calm the distress in Ferguson, is it fair? Is President Obama doing enough? – ruthie hawkins/@ruubabie
