Jay Saves Justin
While dealing with the aftermath of his falling out with Deitrick, Jay got a call from Jennifer, an artist friend of his, about a homeless young man named Justin that she felt could use the Pastor’s help. After walking the streets of downtown LA in search of Justin, the pair discover him passed out and in bad shape on a busy sidewalk. After getting him on his feet, Justin tells the pair that he’s recently been to the methadone clinic but they weren’t much help and just gave him more methadone to take. While having lunch, Justin pleads with Jay to help him and Jay readily agrees if Justin is ready to fight for his salvation. Justin says he’s ready and agrees to meet Jay and Jennifer at church the next day. Though he arrives at the tail end of service, the trip to church proves to literally save Jay’s life as he is still visibly strung out and even takes several swigs of what appears to be alcohol while listening to Jay’s sermon. At the end of service, Jay walks over to Justin while delivering his closing words and Justin passes out and is sent to the hospital in an ambulance. More than likely, if not for showing up to church, Justin would have passed out on the street and died.
