Police officers in Orlando, Florida, are charging a man with a crime that he didn’t commit. According to reports by WESH in Orlando, police confronted Koby Roach, 23, after he was kicked out of a nightclub.
Officers attempted to arrest Roach and tried to use a taser. However, Roach’s baggy clothes allowed him to run away from the taser unharmed. Police then said Roach reached inside of his waistband to retrieve a weapon.
Officer Eduardo Sanguino shot at Roach nine times and struck him five times. However, one of the bullets hit Maria Castillo, 22, who was an innocent bystander. Castillo later died.
When Roach’s gun was recovered, police discovered that it didn’t have any bullets. Although Roach never shot anyone, he was arrested and charged with first degree murder.
He also faces charges of armed trespassing and carrying a concealed weapon.
