Colin King made quite an impression on the crowd on Friday evening when he debuted his Spring/Summer 2015 collection titled Crown by Colin King at the HUB located at the Hudson New York Hotel during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. The über-cool Centerville, Ohio native was all smiles backstage when he talked about the collection’s debut. “It went amazingly well. Brian Hawkins is a huge part of that; his hair and makeup team killed it. We also have the Ploosh team with their accessories. We had good teams back here, including IMG, and that’s what made a good show,” he said.
Inspiration: “The crown is the first thing I ever made. It is what has taken off more than any other design I’ve come up with. I wanted to create something royal and powerful for women to wear.”
Editor’s Pick: the flowing white shirt dress, how he came up with the design: “There are a few white shirt dresses. I just wanted something that’s easy to wear on any given day but could be worn to the office that’s taut. It can be worn when going out with the girls. It’s a very versatile piece.”
NY Residency: “Union Square. My office is in Brooklyn and we are here on the Upper Westside doing it right.”
