Atlanta Hawks GM Danny Ferry made disgustingly racist remarks about Loul Deng

Atlanta Hawks general manager Danny Ferry made remarks that were worse than Donald Sterling’s, according the Atlanta Hawks minority owner Michael Gearon.

In an email obtained by WSB TV, Gearon asked for Ferry’s resignation in June after a conference call about potential free agents. Gearon wrote that Ferry said, “[Loul Deng] has a little African in him. Not in a bad way, but he’s like a guy who would have a nice store out front but sell you counterfeit stuff out of the back.” He was basically calling African’s two-faced liars and cheats.

Gearon believed that Ferry’s comments would cause the entire franchise to dismantle and wanted to force Bruce Levens to fire Ferry. He also believed that the franchise lacked diversity after Ferry was hired.

Gearon hired a former black judge and a discrimination lawyer to do an internal  investigation. Levenson’s inflammatory email from 2012 was discovered during the investigation.

Levenson will sell his stake in the team, but the NBA initially said it would not punish Ferry.

At press time, the Atlanta Hawks have yet to fire Ferry.

Move on – nothing new here. Once again – Blacks need to simply NOT spend money with people who continue to disrespect them. Don’t buy Hawks tickets, jerseys, and don’t watch the sorry team on television. Arthur Blank seems to respect Black $$$, so maybe throw your support behind the Falcons. Go Bears. Stop financing your oppression!

You said the most important thing in your comment” sorry team”, which is the REAL reason that tickets sales are so low. It has nothing to do with black people, but mismanagement on the higher levels of the organization (i.e. white people).

I get what you’re saying by not supporting the team, but in the process you hurt the players and fans, who have nothing to do with these morons and their inability to properly run a team. It’s a running joke in Atlanta that unfortunately the fans are fickle because the teams just don’t perform. I think they need to start at the top and clean house. Bring the team back to their glory days of the 90s.

I respect your point, but the Hawks franchise needs to show and prove they respect the Black dollar. As far as the players – I would be a fool to stick up for a 240lb 6’8″ athlete. If he/she does not have the stones to stick up for themselves – I can only pray for them. This negative attitude toward Blacks is not isolated to this management, so making changes at the top won’t help. You do you, and I won’t watch or attend another game. I can find other ways to entertain myself. Stop allowing people to disrespect you.
