A police officer in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, resigned after several racist tweets became public. According to reports by The Times-Picayune, Michael Elsbury was texting racial remarks to a female friend.
Elsbury, who patrolled Southern University, began complaining about his black coworkers and black people in general. He said, “blacks are a bunch of monkeys” and claimed that “the only reason they have this job is because of the n—–, n—– in them.”
Elsbury went one step further and said, “I wish someone would pull a Ferguson on them and take them out. I hate looking at those African monkeys at work … I enjoy arresting those thugs with their saggy pants.”
His statement proves, once again, that every police officer in America should go through diversity training before they’re allowed to hold a position with a police department.
The woman who Elsbury texted was bothered by his racist tone and turned the texts over to authorities.
Elsbury, a 15-year veteran, resigned after the texts were leaked.
