British singer-songwriter FKA twigs has been rumored to be in a relationship with Twilight star Robert Pattinson, and many of Pattinson’s fans have gone to Twitter to harass twigs with derogatory and racist comments. Many of the actor’s angry fans have unfavorably compared twigs to Pattinson’s former girlfriend and on-screen love interest Kristen Stewart; going so far as to refer to twigs as a “monkey” and a “black
b—-.”

The singer, on her own Twitter page this week, chastised those who are using hateful language against her.

“I am genuinely shocked and disgusted at the amount of racism that has been infecting my account the past week,” the singer-songwriter tweeted. “Racism is unacceptable in the real world and it’s unacceptable online.”

The 26-year old, born Tahliah Barnett, is nominated for the Mercury Prize this year, as well as three MOBO awards. Her debut album, LP1, was released in August this year. The pair has not verbally confirmed that they are officially dating, but have been photographed out together repeatedly around London.
