Pharrell Williams for Adidas

When musician-fashion mogul Pharrell Williams isn’t coaching the next big superstar on “The Voice,” he’s using his star power to support a positive movement. As previously reported, the legendary producer-turned-performer, who inked a long-term partnership with Adidas back in March, has launched his latest campaign and it’s all about promoting gender and ethnic equality.

With taglines like “Equality is Acceptance,” “Equality is Love” and “Equality is Strength,” Williams’ ad campaign is somewhat reminiscent of the the multiethnic, cheerful, “Happy” video he delivered earlier this year.

The colorfully bold campaign, captured by up-and-coming photographer Ryan McGinley, features a diverse cast standing on a field in two parallel lines, representing an equal sign. Accompanying the ad are two new products: a track jacket in satin ($190.50) or leather ($1,905) and a pair of classic Stan Smith kicks in leather ($254) or in felt ($152). While the price points may sound a little high, just remind yourself that proceeds from Williams‘ collaboration with Adidas Originals aid a bigger cause … the fight for equality!

It’s refreshing to see Williams use his platform and creative juices alongside Adidas to promote social awareness — as the singer told GQ in March, “I’m the most indiscriminate person that there is! I believe in equality.” – ruthie hawkins/@ruubabie
