In a since removed Facebook post entitled “Scary Situation,” actor and director Tyler Perry shed some light on the stalking incident that resulted in the arrest of a former employee last week.

Joshua Sole, 27, allegedly barricaded himself in an office at Perry’s Atlanta based studio because he wanted to meet the director. Perry has since sought an order of protection against Sole and filed a lawsuit for $125,000 plus attorney fees.

“So, here’s what happened,” Perry wrote. “This young man wasn’t fired and didn’t get into it with anyone at the studio. He just decided that he wanted to meet me.”

Perry said that Sole managed to get into a restricted area and into the executive offices in search of Perry, which drew the alarm of the staff. Security was then called but “in the 15 seconds that it took for them to get upstairs to look for him, he seemed to have vanished,” Perry said.

“After 45 minutes, they heard him inside of the Sheetrock walls,” Perry continued. “He had somehow climbed into the drop ceiling and made his way into an empty office. He barricaded himself inside and refused to come out of the office until he met me.”

An evacuation of the studio was necessary for the police to catch Sole.

According to Perry, the “shutting down caused me quite a bit in damages and lost hours.”
