Rihanna, Killer Mike, Pharrell and more react to Ferguson announcement

2014 Suburbia Music Festival - Day 1

The announcement that Officer Darren Wilson will face no charges in the murder of Mike Brown led to swift and passionate outcry from many across social media. Several celebrities, including Russell Simmons, Macklemore, Trey Songz and others, reacted with disappointment at the news.

“I have seen many times a suspect run get tired and turn around to surrender. I am not convinced the Crowd is attacking ‘Police Cars'” rapper Killer Mike tweeted. “It’s the system the[y] hate! Officers they cud [sic] be attacking YOU but they are not. #Think #DontShoot.”

Mike was performing in St. Louis last night, and spoke to the crowd about the announcement.

“Tonight I got kicked on my a–, when I listened to that prosecutor. You motherf—— got me today. I knew it was coming,” he said. “I have a 20-year-old son, I have a 12-year-old son and I’m so afraid for them.”

He ended his message with a reference to El-P, “We know you don’t value my skin, and we know you do value [El-P’s], but you know what we’re friends and nothing is gonna devalue that.”
