Hip-hop mogul 50 Cent is doing his part to help put an end to hunger in America.

As highlighted by a recent story on the CNN network entitled “From Hip-Hop To Hunger,” 50 recently stopped by a New York City food bank to help the organization, Feeding America, in its efforts to feed the reported 49 million Americans that are what is known as “food insecure.”

“Feeding America is the best charitable organization to be a part of if hunger is your cause,” 50 told CNN. “I had it pretty rough, but not to the point where there wasn’t something to eat. But now, I’m seeing a lot of kids that have even tougher stories than what I experienced.”

50’s SMS Audio company has partnered with Feeding America to provide a whopping 250 meals to families in need for every pair of SMS headphones that are sold online.

Every year, Feeding America, a collective of food banks across the nation, feeds tens of millions of people. The 35 year old organization has more than 200 members and annually serves at least 12 million children and 7 million senior citizens.

“When you look at hunger itself, it takes so much to solve it,” said 50. “The only place I see enough finances to do it is in business itself. This is the real part where you give back.”

In addition to SMS Audio’s involvement, 50’s energy drink Street King also donates proceeds to the U.N. world food program.
